Abdallah family welcomes baby girl: 'God has answered our prayers'

Sydney couple Leila and Danny Abdallah have welcomed their seventh child, a baby girl born on Friday morning, just over two years since three of their children were killed by a drunk driver.

The family announced the exciting news on their Facebook page The Four Angels.

"Baby Abdallah Born 18th March 2022 at 7:40am, her weight is 3.3 kg and her height is 51cm. Our little girl is in good health," they wrote.

While they are yet to reveal the name of their baby daughter, the couple couldn't wait to share the news with the Australian community who have supported them through the heartbreak of losing Antony, 13, Angelina, 12, and Sienna, eight, in February 2020.

"God has answered our prayers The Lord gives and the Lord takes blessed be the name of the Lord," the couple captioned the post which featured an image of the parents with their daughter.

The baby girl joins Liana, Alex and Michael, along with their lost siblings in heaven, to extend the family to seven children.

The couple announced they were expecting again four months ago, posting photos of Leila's growing tummy on Instagram: "God blessed us with a gift from above."

In February 2020, the Abdallahs suffered unimaginable loss when the three children were killed by a drunk driver who ploughed into a group of seven children as they walked to buy ice cream in Oatlands. They also lost their niece and cousin Veronique Sakr.

Since the devastating event the family has dedicated their lives to spreading a message of faith and forgiveness to Australians.

Speaking to 2GB's Ben Fordham in 2021, dad Danny said he was still in pain but has let go of his anger.

"I didn't want my kids … to be angry, to feel that they lost their dad through anger, revenge and bitterness. Forgiveness is for yourself more than the driver," he said. "I'm still in pain, I still cry, I still miss my children but my soul isn't imprisoned anymore."

The couple launched I4give Week which runs from 1-7 February each year, to encourage people from all over the world to, "understand the power, freedom and gift of forgiveness."
