Craig McLachlan's partner of eight years has broken her silence over the claims of sexual misconduct against him, saying the couple will do everything possible to clear his name.

McLachlan was accused of sexual harassment and assault by three female cast members from the 2014 production of The Rocky Horror Show in which he played the lead, cross-dressing sexual deviant Frank N. Furter.

He has since filed defamation suits in the New South Wales Supreme Court against Fairfax Media and the ABC for breaking and reporting the allegations.

Speaking to 4BC Radio's4BC Radio's, orchestra conductor Vanessa Scammell said she was standing by the actor who she met while working on the musical Chicago eight years ago.

"We basically are determined and will do everything we can to move through this and clear his name," she said.

"For everyone to realise that the person who is Craig McLachlan is not the person who has been painted."

She said the accusations have rocked the former Neighbours star — and are not representative of the person she knows and loves.

"Craig McLachlan is not that person," she said.

"He’s kind and gentle and funny… yes he’s mischievous.

"But one of his greatest assets is that he loves to make people happy and comfortable."
