What couples are arguing about in the lead up to Christmas

We're at the pointy end of the year, with less than three weeks until Christmas. It's busy and stressful and sometimes that stress can lead us to lash out at those we love the most.

In a recent Nine.com.au survey, we asked our readers: "What are the main things you and your partner argue about in the lead up to Christmas?"

Those who responded said they are fighting about their finances, with 13 per cent choosing money worries as the cause of most of their stress. Also at 13 per cent are disagreements about what gifts to buy each other.

Twelve per cent of those who responded are disagreeing about how to juggle all their commitments to family and friends over the Christmas period. Eleven per cent have taken these disagreements to the next level, unable to agree on where to spend Christmas Day.

Four per cent aren't sure where to head for an end of year holiday break.

For 23 per cent of couples, the cause of their fights was not included in our reader survey, and we wish them the best of luck in sorting their issues out.

Meanwhile, 34 per cent of those who responded don't have partners, which can be a good or bad thing at Christmas, depending on your circumstances.
