Cocobella Yoghurt is back on supermarket shelves after a nation-wide recall in August due to an undeclared allergen.

The popular dairy-free snack was removed from Coles, Woolworths and IGA locations across the country and online after they were found to contain milk.

All Cocobella Yoghurt products stock with use by dates up to and including October 6 were affected.

A spokesperson for Cocobella tells nine.com.au the recall has now been completed, with "all affected stock" having been "removed from circulation at the time of the recall".

"The cause was identified as a mechanical issue that allowed milk to enter a small number of Cocobella coconut yoghurt batches," they say.

"We are working hard to have these products back in stock as soon as possible.

"Thank you for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Cocobella Yoghurt is now back in production, with "enhanced allergen testing and quality protocols in place".

"We are doing our best to get shelves fully restocked as quickly as possible and are grateful for the overwhelming support we have received from customers and retailers."

Notices have since been removed from Coles, Woolworths and IGA outlets over the past week, with the new stock now in place.

"We are so sorry to all of those affected, and for letting our community down, especially people with food allergy and their families."

Cocobella first launched in Australia in 2010 and is part of the Made Group. It initially began with coconut water before expanding into its popular dairy-free coconut range.

Before the recall, it was one of the most popular dairy-free yoghurt options available in major Australian supermarkets.

Earlier this year the company began receiving reports of allergic reactions by customers who cannot consume dairy. This triggered a recall under the Food Standards Code, which requires accurate labelling of all allergens.

During the recall, Aussie shoppers were left to try out alternate brands including Aldi's Inner Goodness coconut yoghurt and CoYo Natural Coconut Yoghurt.

It remains to be seen if Cocobella can re-establish their brand dominance in the dairy-free vegan-friendly markets.

Cocobella's spokesperson said they are "confident there is no further risk" from their yoghurt products.
