Man's incredible find in the wall while renovating his childhood home: 'A Christmas miracle'

A man in the US has made a shocking discovery while renovating his childhood home.

Tim King, 53, has shared the find on the social media account of his business TKING Construction Services.

In the first video, shared on Instagram, viewers are taken through a room that is being renovated. "Christmas miracle," the post was captioned.

The walls and floors have been stripped back and it was inside the wall cavity that he discovered what appeared to be a Christmas present.

Upon closer inspection, he realise the gift was for him, but was meant to have been given to him when he was a child.

King described the find as a "Christmas miracle" and in a second video he opens the gift to find a set of Matchbox Thunder Jets.

"MatchboxThunder Jets! 1987 (ish)," he wrote.

"If that isn't a literal step into a time machine then I don't know what is. I would give anything to find an old unwrapped gift from my childhood. Glad he found it!!!" one social media follower commented.

"This is soooooo my mum!" another said. "She hid things every year and you could watch her face as she was counting gifts and realising she was missing one… 40+ years later there is still a pink cowgirl hat she hid that has never been found."

Others shared similar experiences.

"A man I know had to replace his mother's hot water heater, when he moved the old water heater he found a BB gun still in original box that his parents had forgotten they had bought him for Christmas. He was 40 when he found it," one wrote.

Another shared: "After my mom passed I found a box full of Christmas presents all with my name on them from 15 years previous. It was a year I couldn't make it home due to lack of funds. I thought no one in the family got me presents that year.

"Why my parents didn't give them to me when I visited the next month with their presents is beyond understanding."

King later told local news service KTLA5

"When I pulled that out, it was super old wrapping paper," he said. "Then I was like, 'Oh c--p, that has my name on it.'"

He said he opened the forgotten gift in front of his mother who had no memory of ever having bought it, wrapped it or hidden it.

King would have been approximately six when the gift was intended for him.

"Wonder if they are a collectable now," one social media follower wondered.

"I love it. A little bit of that childhood Christmas magic carried over to adulthood," another said.

"I HAD that set when I was a kid! I got a LOT of playtime out of them. That's awesome to see the package brand new like this," added another.
