Baby Alexis was born with fragile skin, but her parents say she still manages to smile.

The nine-month-old was Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - a group of genetic conditions that result in easy blistering of the skin and mucous membranes.

Blisters occur with minor trauma or friction and are painful. Its severity can range from mild to fatal.

The condition doesn't just affect Alexis' skin. It also affects her in a number of ways that compromise her internal health.
