The boys from the 'Charlie bit my finger' video are all grown up 10 years later

Ten years after becoming YouTube sensations, the child stars from 'Charlie bit my finger' are all grown up.

Harry Davis-Carr, 13, and brother Charlie, 11, are today celebrating the anniversary of the candid family video that skyrocketed them to fame a decade ago.

Howard Davis-Carr uploaded the hilarious clip of his sons, then aged 3 and 1, to show family members on May 22, 2007, but had no idea it would become the most watched video on Youtube by 2009.

In fact, the viral clip went on to be viewed more than 850 million times, raking in more than £1 million in royalties for the Thames Valley family.

"It was only meant for family members," Mr Davis-Carr told The Sun.

"In 2007, sharing video files — about 50 megabytes — was hard. It was too big for email, so YouTube stood out as a great vehicle to share videos."

He revealed he had even gone to delete the video a few days later but decided to "embrace it" after the views began doubling almost every day.

By October 2009, it had received 129 million hits, establishing itself as YouTube's most watched video. The family continued to add videos of the boys to their YouTube channel, which collectively received more than a billion views.

The two boys went on to appear on television shows and star in several adverts. 

Today, the boys are almost unrecogniseable and have two younger brothers, Jasper, 9, and Rupert, 6. Mum Shelley said she had only been able to have a fourth child thanks to the royalties from the YouTube clip.

The family also revealed despite the windfall, they had chosen to remain in the same house and instead using the money towards putting the boys through private education. 

Howard, who still works full-time as an IT consultant, said: "In reality, we don't actually treat them that much."
