Bridemaid's shock text to bride ahead of wedding
A bride has been left shocked after one of her bridesmaids pulled out of her wedding via text.
The message, which has been shared on Reddit's 'Bridezilla' thread, read: "Hey there, so I'm going to go ahead and remove myself from the bridal party, and I will not be attending the wedding.
"At this point you and I both know it is for the best. I truly, truly hope you have the most beautiful day, and a happy beautiful marriage."

The shocked bride responded: "What?? This is obviously something that we need to talk about.
"I'm with my in laws and I know you have your party, so tomorrow?"
The bridesmaid, who shared the text exchange, said they had no intention of answering the bride's response or meeting up with her to discuss her decision further.

She had previously shared the events that led up to this difficult decision, explaining she and the bride had been friends for 20 years after meeting in school.
Despite growing apart during their college years they kept in touch.
"Then she got engaged. The bridesmaids were picked and I don't really know any of them which is fine I've been a bridesmaid in 8 weddings and normally don't know many of the girls, I'm adaptable," she said.
She was even asked to be the maid of honour.
The problems began when she couldn't join the bride for dress shopping due to work, even thought she had flagged she was working that weekend during earlier discussions.
The hen's trip was held in Nashville and the bride picked themes for each night. The maid of honour said her messages suggesting outfits went unanswered.

The bride then began complaining to the maid of honour about her other bridesmaids not being enough "fun", and her suggestions about how they could improve things were again met with silence.
Soon, the maid of honour was being left out of conversations altogether, both in person and via text, leaving her crying in her room "literally every night" of the trip.
During the flight home the bride didn't speak to her at all and the maid of honour said she "caught her saying awful things about me".

She was left feeling "bullied and gaslit".
The maid of honour was still planning to be in the bridal party, until she wasn't invited to a second hen's event.
The maid of honour found out about the event via photos shared on Facebook.
She was then demoted to second bridesmaid.
She has accepted her decision to pull out of the wedding will end this friendship, with many Redditors asking what took her so long.
"You did GREAT. PLEASE don't give into temptation or pressure and talk to her. Be done and walk away! In a year, you'll be so glad you did," one said.

Another suggested she "block" the bride to prevent further attempts at communication.
"YOU MUST DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO BE DISLIKED IN ORDER TO FREE YOURSELF FROM THE PRISON OF OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS," one Redditor said, prompting another saying this should be made into a "motivational poster".
"I'm debating whether to cross-stitch or embroider this for my next project," added another.
One Redditor suggested: "The devil inside me would absolutely wait 24 hours to see if she actually contacts you, and maybe even hear her side for the absolute nonsense she's going to have to spout to justify the appalling way she treated you."

"The stone cold thing to do here is go no contact and refuse to feed her need for drama," another Redditor suggested.
"It's simultaneously the thing that will leave the bride hilariously unsatisfied and keeps you from being cast as the villain in any substantial way."
"I'm so glad you're dropping out. She's awful! Don't bother talking to her tomorrow. She knows exactly what she did. And tbh, she's just not worth it. Congratulations on your shiny spine!" added another.
