'Makes me sick': Bride's shock as the majory of guests fail to attend her wedding

A bride has been left shocked after the majority of her invited guests failed to attend her wedding.

Kalina Marie and husband Shane had organised a masquerade-themed reception for their wedding on November 2 and received numerous RSVPs.

In a video shared on TikTok, we see the bride and groom standing at the entrance to their wedding reception venue. The doors are opened, and just a handful of family and friends are waiting inside for them.

The video has been viewed 7.3 million times.

Kalina later revealed she had invited 75 guests to her wedding, which was 10 months in the making.

They were meant to arrive before 1pm. At 1.15pm, her mother texted her to let her know the majority hadn't arrived.

Forty-five minutes later, when she and Shane made their grand entrance, guests had still not arrived.

The couple decided to make the most of the situation, doing their best to enjoy the company of those who had made the effort.

"I dreamed that I would walk into a bunch of people cheering us on, hooting and hollering for us in celebration… but all you see is a woman trying to hold herself together because she had NO idea how to deal with her venue being almost completely empty," she said.

"All the wasted food and drinks. All the empty tables and chairs. Every moment of my reception changed to adapt.

"Did we still make the most of it?? You bet your SWEET ass we did.

"But did this video just take all the good moments and shoot them out of the water for a second, f**k yea it did."

Commenters were quick to offer their congratulations to the couple, and some even offered to attend if she decides on a do-over.

"Let's do it over. This time invite me and the rest of us. We'll show up and out. I love you beautiful and congratulations!!" one wrote.

"You made a lovely job of the venue, what a special moment between your little family, good luck for the future," another said.

"This hurts my heart for you," one said.

"This is more of an intimate experience.. surrounded by your loved ones. That's all that matters," added another.

A week later Kalina said she still has guests who haven't messaged her to congratulate her on her marriage or explain why they didn't come.

"It truly makes me sick. I honestly can't wrap my head around this yet. All I know is, I have my man. My baby. And family that shows up when I need them. And for that, I will be thankful," she added.
