Bride-to-be responds after her unique 'vintage' engagement ring cops hate online
Abby Bucco recently got engaged with the "ring of her dreams" but the unique piece of jewellery has caused a stir online.
After her now-fiance Chris got down on one knee, Bucco shared photos of her "mid-century French" engagement ring to TikTok which have since gone viral with many expressing just how much they "hate" the ring.
Speaking to People, the bride-to-be admitted she "always wanted a vintage ring" and expected some people would dislike her circa 1950s ring, she just wasn't prepared for quite how many people would have an opinion on it.

"When I first saw the ring online in July, the first thing I said to my best friend was, 'Is it weird I'm excited for people to hate this?' I meant our peers – I had no clue it would go viral," Bucco told the publication.
"I don't like most people's style, so if the general public doesn't like my ring, I know I did something right."
At the time of writing, Bucco's TikTok posts about her ring – a vintage halo bypass floral ring from Wilson's Estate Jewellery – have clocked up more than 10 million views and thousands of comments from people with plenty to say about the ring.

Some have called the ring "beautiful" and "stunning" and shared their congratulations for the bride-to-be.
Others haven't been so kind.
Some commenters expressed their shock at the ring choice with some even comparing the vintage ring to the mechanical gears of a bike or a can opener.
Speaking to People, Bucco revealed that the negative commentary "doesn't offend" her but she is disappointed that people feel the need to make such comments.
She says she is "a huge believe in not criticising someone's personal style" because she would never want to "make someone feel bad about something that brings them joy".

But with that in mind, Bucco has just one simple "message to the haters" and that is: "Thank you".
She explained that the way she sees it is that the hate has boosted her post, and now the ring has reached more people – who can appreciate it.

The viral posts aside, Bucco is simply over-the-moon to be celebrating her engagement with those closest to her and gushing over the ring that she loves so much.
Bucco recently shared more details of the ring to her TikTok account revealing that she "can't stop staring at it."
"My friends and family love the ring, and if they don't, they love it for me," she told the publication.
"I'm not someone who can be swayed easily when it comes to style – if I like something, I like it."
