A wedding guest has taken issue with a bride's bold request ahead of her nuptials.

The guest has shared a screenshot of the bride's message on Reddit's 'Wedding Shaming' thread with the caption, "They say no shame but there's so much shame in this."

"The time has come!! We are 30 days away from the big day! We wish we could have invited everyone, but unfortunately these things are expensive," reads the message, which seems to be a text.

"If anyone would like to help us get to the big day you can contribute to our wedding fund through cashapp. Yes, I am asking for donations to help us get married. I have no shame, and it's crunchtime."

Reddit followers are not sympathetic to the bride.

"Help me pay for the party I didn't invite you to," one writes, summarising the bride's request.

"Donations to get married? Nah," says another. "Courthouse cost less than $100 and you're married. Boom."

Another comments, "'In over my head'. UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY. Buckle up, bride, marriage will be a doozy for ya."

Another person speculates the bride is facing some big bills ahead of the wedding.

"Deadlines for the caterer, venue, DJ, and photographer are next week and we are 30 days out from the wedding," they write in their own version of the woman's request.

"We have overextended ourselves and can't afford our own wedding. You weren't important enough for us to actually invite you but now that we are in a pinch we're going to ask for you money. Yes, I am asking for donations and am entitled as well as being oblivious to financial, social, and emotional constructs."

"I would rather elope then ask anyone for money," says another commenter. "I cringe at these people."

"If this is the kind of budgeting she does, maybe she isn't ready for marriage," says another.
