Bride uses local swapping group to donate everything to her wedding

A US bride hoping to keep her wedding bill to $100 has angered members of a Facebook 'swap group' by posting numerous requests for donations.

Posting in the group "Buy No Things, Ann Arbor", the Michigan woman claimed God "told her to" ask strangers for items in order to spend less money on her wedding.

She explained she had "challenged" herself to "spend less than $100 total" on the event, scheduled for September 20.

"The colour scheme is rainbow," the woman told members of the Facebook group, designed for neighbours to exchange unwanted items.

She then listed items she hoped to get for free for the big day, including decorations, a veil, candles, a set of ring bearer pillows, cake toppers, a champagne fountain and glass jars.

One of the more obscure requests was for a Halloween cauldron to use as a 'pot at the end of a rainbow' feature.

The bride also confirmed she had managed to buy her dress, bouquet, venue, caterers, music and clean-up staff for a mere $26.80.

A member of the community has called out the bride's "numerous requests" and "unrealistic budget" in another Facebook group.

Sharing screenshots of the bride's requests in 'That's It, I'm Wedding Shaming', the woman wrote: "She keeps posting and is dead serious."

She said the woman's requests became increasingly specific.

Rainbow-coloured yarn was requested to complete the wedding décor, as was a "mustard seed pendant necklace", the bride explaining she had lost one that was a "family heirloom" close to her heart.

Facebook users have labelled the bride's demands "entitled".

"Wow shes gonna blame this s--t on God," wrote one.

"Well God is telling me 'ask and you shall receive a million dollars'," another commented.

Others slammed her choice of theme, one comment reading: "This sounds like the dream wedding of a preschooler complete with her imaginary friend god telling her what to add next."
