The surgery involves grafting fat from one area of the body, often the stomach, and moving it to the buttocks to create a fuller, rounder shape.

Now it's believed that the social media star has died as a result of the incredibly dangerous operation, which has an estimated death rate of one in 3,000 patients.

Cano's family are yet to confirm the news of her death, however fellow model Lira Mercer shared the tragedy on Twitter.

"Omg Joselyn Cano died in Colombia getting surgery, that's wild," Mercer wrote.

"She looked so good already wow prayers for her family she was so sweet."

Fans also claim to have found footage of Cano's funeral on YouTube, which was uploaded on Wednesday from a funeral home near where Cano was living.

Captions on the funeral footage reads: "Joselyn entered this life on Wednesday, March 14, 1990. She entered into Eternal Life on Monday, December 07, 2020."
