Aussie music festival Beyond the Valley hit with 'mini-tornado' as music lovers descend on Victoria

It's not a festival without a bit of unexpected weather, but music fans were left stunned when a 'mini-tornado' swept through Beyond The Valley this week.

The freak weather event happened in the opening few days of the festival in rural Victoria, and was shared in a video shared to TikTok in the hours that followed.

One man even tried to take on the 'tiny tornado' as it whistled through the site, throwing a couple of jabs into the wind and losing his hat in the process.

Away from the mini-tornado, winds were seen taking gazebos and tents up into the air as weather conditions hit an almighty high.

It wasn't the only drama to have emerged from the festival so far.

According to fans sharing videos on social media, the queues to get into Beyond the Valley took well over three hours.

But despite the hectic start to the festival, thousands poured out to see the likes of Dom Dolla, Kid Cudi, Turnstile, Addison Rae, and Spacey Jane take to the stage.

Beyond the Valley isn't the only festival to have made headlines this year due to wild weather conditions.

Burning Man, the US desert festival attended annually by hordes of celebrities, kicked off amid absolute chaos with a dust storm tearing through the event's opening weekend.

Festival-goers could be seen sitting among their camp set-ups amid a terrifying haze of dust, using scarfs and hats to cover their face from the relentless dusty onslaught.

Other footage showed the storm tearing up parts of the festival set-up and sending tents and camping equipment flying into the air as attendees attempted to hold them down.

"Crazy winds at Burning Man pretty much destroyed a lot of camps including ours," one Burning Man attendee wrote posting a video of the damage to TikTok.

"Will have to rebuild everything, hope everyone's OK! We had a couple injuries in the camp from poles flying around."

Despite the weather, Beyond the Valley festival attendees appear to be having a great time at the event , which runs through until January 1.
