Beauty blogger has the best response to teen who wishes she looked like her

A beauty blogger has given a refreshingly honest response to a teen who said she wished she was as "beautiful" as her.

YouTube star Gina Shkeda posted a photo of her lying in bed, looking fresh-faced, on Instagram to her 800,000 plus followers.

And, like many young women on social media, 19-year-old Paige Matthews was captivated by the image and began comparing herself.

Matthews then tweeted the photo, saying “If I could wake up as beautiful as @GinaShkeda I’d be the happiest girl alive #naturalbeauty.”

But rather than letting young women, like Matthews, fawn over her look — Shkeda decided to set the record straight on her so-called “natural beauty”.

The vlogger tweeted a clarification for Matthews, her other 37,000 Twitter followers and whoever else thought she actually woke up like that (because — she doesn't).

She wrote: “Girl I have micro bladed brows, lash extensions in and lip injections. I don’t even look like this. You’re flawless”.

And people have applauded her honesty.

“We need more people who keep it real like you,” one user wrote.

“Wow that was refreshing and positive af to see someone plainly admit their natural-look isn’t natural,” another commented.

Matthews told BuzzFeed News Shkeda’s response had inspired her to be more confident in herself.

"It kind of blew me away how she was so confident in herself," she said. "That she could put herself out like that, because not a lot of people do."

"I realized if someone I look up to can be so confident, so can I," she said.
