Woman shares barista's 'flirty' message on boyfriend's takeaway coffee cup
An American woman has shared a message written on her boyfriend's takeaway coffee cup by a barista, and is asking her social media followers if they believe the message is "flirting".
Kiley Miller, who shares videos on TikTok @fitbykiki, explains that the messages only appear when she sends her boyfriend into the coffee shop without her.
On one side of her boyfriend's coffee cup is his name "Jeff" and on the other is the message "Have a great day" next to a love heart.

Clearly not taking offence she has shared the video along with the description: "I mean idgaf (I don't give a f--k) but can u at least flirt back so our coffee is free."
Although she does caption the video: "Who is she?"

She says messages like this only appear when Jeff goes into the coffee shop alone. TikTok
She does wonder: "Are they flirting or are they just being nice? I see a heart."
Her video has been viewed 1.7 million times, with her TikTok followers divided between those who think the message is flirty, and those who think it is just friendly.

Then a barista writes: "As a barista they are def flirting."

"Lmfaooo (laughing my a-- off) no at my store some baristas write on the cup cuz we gotta engage with customers/be friendly nd this just one way of doing so," another barista writes.
One says: "Sometimes at starbucks when we have down time we prewrite the little notes on cups/bags so that it could make someone's day."
Others explain messages like that are often pre-written before the coffee shop gets too busy.
"I pre-write a million little messages on a bunch of cups before peak & the thought that someone thinks I'm flirting with them never crossed my mind," another suggests.

"I work at Starbucks. A lot of the time we write on cups/lids in advance so we just grab one and make someone's drink with it," another confirms.
"My coffee has never had a message," another sadly states.
