From the pitch to the pool: The 'power couples' of Aussie sport
Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis
Australia's football golden girl Sam Kerr marked a relationship milestone in 2023.
In October, the nation's all-time leading goal scorer with 63 goals from 119 got engaged to USA player Kristie Mewis.
By November 2024, the duo still hadn't tied the knot – but they made an even bigger announcement...
Let's see how it all started out for the pair.
Yes, we're aware Mewis is not Australian.
However, after witnessing the love she shared our girl Kerr after Australia's bronze medal loss to the US at Tokyo 2020, Mewis surely has honouree Aussie status.
Just days after this photo was taken they went Instagram official, with the Chelsea FC striker sharing a shot of herself kissing Mewis to her official Instagram page alongside a "❤️".
The couple first sparked engagement rumours in September 2023, when Mewis was seen out and about wearing a giant sparkler on her left ring finger.
In November 2023, Mewis confirmed the couple's relationship to People.
"[She's] My biggest supporter, always listening to me nag and complain, all of my crazy antics," she said.
The couple then shared private photos of their engagement to their social media...
And pose together for the cameras at events – most recently at The Design Museum for the Reimagining The Future Gala Dinner for F1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton's charity Mission 44 in early November.
Never shy to share their love for each other with the world!
Weeks after that event, Mewis and Kerr revealed they're expecting their first child.
In the announcement photos shared to Instagram, Mewis and Kerr are seen kissing and celebrating while holding a photo of an ultrasound.
"Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025," the caption read.
Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler
Nathan Cleary has praised his girlfriend Mary Fowler's team, The Matildas, during a tense Olympic game.
The Panthers star woke up bright and early to watch the Aussies play against Zambia in a nail-biting 90 minutes.
Fowler's team prevailed in a stunning victory, shockingly recovering from a three-goal deficit at halftime.

In the second half of the fame, the team managed to turn things around and continue playing in the Olympics.
Sharing a snap of Fowler on his TV this morning, Cleary wrote "comeback" with a clapping hands emoji in an adorable tribute to his country and girlfriend.
Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter
Aussie sporting pro Alex de Minaur and fellow tennis star Katie Boulter are enjoying some rest and relaxation during a break in the chaotic tennis season.
"R&R 🔋🌊🎾," the tennis star captioned his post.
The pair spent time on a yacht in Positano with family and friends before the Olympics.
De Minaur, 25, is on the rise as one of Australia's best talents. This year, he became the first Australian man in 20 years to reach the French Open quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, his 27-year-old girlfriend is a tennis prodigy in her own right. The British athlete often travels on the same tournament circuit alongside De Minaur, and they even met through the sport.
The pair were staying in the same hotel when they bumped into each other at 6am and went to get a coffee.
