Just week after losing his job, Andre Schnura became the internet's latest viral sensation: Saxophone Man

He was once just a man with a saxophone and a dream, now he's the internet's latest viral sensation.

German man Andre Schnura has grown quite the cult following on social media after going viral as Saxophone Man.

Schnura, who now has over 26 million likes on TikTok and an Instagram following of more than 640,000, went viral for doing what he loves – playing saxophone and enjoying the football.

It all started at the 2024 Euros, where Schnura first captured the hearts of German football fans.

The first video he posted from the tournament saw him wearing the jersey of German football player, Rudi Völler, and a pair of sunglasses, playing Shakira's Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), a song that has become synonymous with the sport after being the official FIFA World Cup song in 2010.

At the time of publishing, the short clip has 1.4 million views and 170,000 likes.

He began posting more and more clips from the tournament, soon becoming an overnight internet sensation.

His most popular clip is one of the many where he plays Samba de Janeiro, a song by German pop group Bellini that fans have now dubbed the 'unofficial song of the 2024 Euros', all thanks to Schnura's performances.

Fans in the comments section have not only praised the saxophone player for the "incredible vibe" he brings to the tournament, they've also titled him a "living legend."

But it seems that Schnura took to the tournament with his saxophone in hand out of circumstance.

Sharing the details in an Instagram post, the musician revealed that prior to the Euros, he had just lost his job.

"The last few weeks have been ups and downs. I was fired from my job after six years and started asking myself what next," he wrote as per a translation from Instagram.

Now, Schnura has taken a pivot in his career announcing that thanks to his new found fame, he'll be taking his saxophone on the road as he embarks on a tour.

"I have now just said f--- it and put everything on a map. My team and I set up my first own tour in recent days.," he announced in a post on Instagram. "This is all completely new to me, and I can't estimate if anyone even comes. But in life there is no certainty anyway, so I just went all in."

But before he embarks on his tour later this year, Euros fans are demanding that Schnura perform at the finals on July 14 in Berlin.

Germany supporters have taken to the comments section on Schnura's TikTok and Instagram, petitioning for him to take the stage at the final game, however there has been no UEFA if it will be happening.

For now, it seems that Schnura is just enjoying the ride, soaking up the attention while he has it.

"I'd like to use my 5 minutes of fame to remind you of something important," he wrote on Instagram. "Still all eyes are on me, but it won't always stay like that.

"We all have worries, fears and insecurities. Sometimes we suppress our feelings out of shame, feel inferior, and think we have to do something to be lovable.

"I want to remind you to love and forgive each other. Nobody is mad for no reason. Everyone has their own backpack to carry," he continued. "Let your ego die and show understanding to your fellow human beings.

"My watch says that it's time for something to turn."
