Amanda Knox pregnant with her first child: 'Oh, thank goodness!'

Amanda Knox and husband Christopher Robinson have announced they are pregnant with their first child.

The couple shared their joyous news at the very end of a series of podcast episodes dedicated to miscarriage and infertility after they suffered an early miscarriage in 2020.

In an episode of the podcast Labyrinths called 'Infertility Part 5: A Global Crisis', at the very end we hear the couple waiting for the results of a pregnancy test. Soon, Amanda, 33, begins gasping in disbelief.

We then hear her say: "Oh, thank goodness! Yay, we did it!"

In a voice over Robinson then confirms: ""That's right, we're pregnant," she and Robinson say together during the podcast, adding that they've been documenting their experiences "from day 1" and will share more soon."

It is a happy ending to what has been a harrowing five-part series of episodes where the couple shared their devastation at suffering a miscarriage.

They had fallen pregnant quickly and were shocked when they lost the baby.

"I did feel incredibly disappointed that that was the story of my first-ever pregnancy. I thought, like, I knew exactly what I want to do with my first pregnancy, and to have it not come to fruition not through choice felt like a betrayal," Knox said at the time.

Knox and Robinson spoke about the complicated feelings they battled through following the miscarriage.

"I don't know who that baby was. I don't know if I'll ever know. It's a weird thought," she said during the podcast series.

The couple has promised to share their pregnancy journey with their followers in a new series of podcast episodes.

Since her wrongful conviction and eventual acquittal over the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher in Italy, Knox has determinedly reclaimed her story though her podcast series.

In 2007 she and then boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were found guilty over the murder and spent years in prison in Italy before being released however their fight to clear their names continued until they were acquitted in 2015. The real killer, Rudy Guede, was sentenced to 16 years in prison over the crime.

After returning home to America Knox struggled to make ends meet and her life was was followed by paparazzi.

She later met journalist and author Christopher Robinson and they were married in 2018, and launched two successful podcast series - The Truth About Crime and Labyrinths.

Recently Amanda Knox has spoken out against the movie Stillwater starring Matt Damon and directed by Tom McCarthy, saying the movie is "profiting" from distorting her story.

In an essay written for Medium Knox explains: "In those four years of wrongful imprisonment and 8 years of trial, I had near-zero agency. Everyone else in that 'saga' had more influence over the course of events than I did.

"The erroneous focus on me by the Italian authorities led to an erroneous focus on me by the press, which shaped how I was presented to the world. In prison, I had no control over my public image, no voice in my story."
