Welsh bloke's singing stuns pub crowd

It's a sight and sound that will soften even the hardest heart.

The workingmen's club in Tonyrefail, Wales has seen many renditions of the traditional folk song Myfanwy, but maybe not quite like this.

The drinkers fall silent as local chap Mal Buck sings the soulful number. It's stunning to hear such an angelic voice emerge from an ordinary bloke having a pint.

The tender moment was captured by local carpenter David Llewelyn Morgan, who uploaded it to Facebook, according to Wales Online.

Amy Nelmes, a Welsh ex-pat who lives in Australia and edits ninemsn's The Fix entertainment site, said the video reminded her of "a wonderful place full of mountains, pubs and singing".

"I wouldn't be Welsh if my heart didn't get a little twinge for the home country when I saw that," she said.

Singing while drinking is virtually the national pastime, she added.

"You can't get to the bar in without having to dodge five old boyos bursting out in traditional Welsh song."
