3 things to watch this weekend: Much-loved Madonna film gets small screen remake

This week is no exception. There's so much good stuff – both TV series and movies – dropping on all the streaming services. The hardest part is picking just three to choose from!

This week features remakes, vampires and even secret celebrities in drag. What else could you ask for?

A League Of Their Own

What: The iconic movie A League Of Their Own has been adapted for the small screen.

Due to the war-time shortage of men to play baseball, team owners test the idea of a women's baseball league. Through all the hard work, hard times, and hard balls, these ladies are certainly not playing around.

Spoiler: There is crying on the baseball field.

The new series stars Abbi Jacobson as Carson Shaw, the team's catcher, Chanté Adams as Max, The Good Place's D'Arcy Carden as Greta, Roberta Colindrez as Lupe, the team's pitcher and Nick Offerman as Casey "Dove" Porter.

While it may not star Geena Davis, Rosie O'Donnell or Madonna – the show promises to be a home run.

RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race (Season 2)

What: Filmed in front of a live studio audience, nine celebrities from all walks of life leave their famous identities behind as they fully embrace the miracle of drag. It will be kept secret who each contestant is until they are asked to sashay away, allowing viewers to focus on their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.

Each week, the celebrities will undergo complete drag transformations and compete in the ultimate lip sync showdown based on a new category until one of them is crowned "America's Next Celeb Drag Superstar" and awarded $100,000 for their favourite charity.

RuPaul returns as host alongside resident judges Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Mathews.

Day Shift

What: Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco and Snoop Dogg have teamed up for a fun new movie that packs one hell of a bite.

Pool cleaner Bud (Foxx) just wants to provide a good life for his eight-year-old daughter. But getting leaves and everything else (a dead raccoon) out of people's pools is just a front – his real job – is hunting and killing vampires.

Proving that some jobs really go for the throat, Day Shift is a fun and dark action comedy. The film also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Heather, Meagan Good as Jocelyn, and How To Get Away With Murder's Karla Souza as Audrey San Fernando
