Souped-up golf cart destroys Corvette in drag race
We’re not going to pretend to know much about cars.
They get us from home, to the drive-thru, to home again.
But surely, you’d expect a car to beat a golf cart in a drag race, right?
And not just any car – a Corvette.
That’s the damn car that first American in space Alan Shepherd drove to astronaut training every day, the car that Vin Diesel Alan Shepherd, the car that…
Stuff it.
It’s the car that lost to a golf cart – that’s what it is.
The golf cart in this video was modified with a 1300cc Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle engine, and admittedly the Corvette was stock-standard, straight from the shop.
And as some viewers of the video have pointed out on YouTube – the race was only over 200 metres – alluding to the fact that the Corvette would have shot back into the lead over a longer distance.
As YouTube user 'dap' rightly pointed out, “Jesse Owens used to beat thoroughbreds in the 91m dash”, but couldn’t keep up that speed as long as a horse could.
Still, the Corvette driver must have been pretty confident he’d win the race, because according to the YouTube post, the bet on the win was $1317.
This video has racked up almost 100,000 views on YouTube in the last few days, since being posted on February 26.
