You may love Transformers enough to put one of those stickers on the back of your car, but would you marry one?

This Chinese woman agreed to, in a way.

Her boyfriend decided the best way to entice her to spend the rest of her days with him was to dress up as Megatron and hassle her in a public square.

Video of the grand romantic gesture was captured on camera and picked up by Chinese media.

The clip posted by the Pear Video Facebook page, with the caption "creative!"

Creative indeed.

Old mate got all kitted out in a cumbersome suit, blundered his way through what we can only imagine is a romantic song and exposed his beloved to the wonders of peer pressure.

"I hope this is special enough," he says.

He then pops the question without the provision of a ring.

He didn't get down on one knee, but at least he had flowers.

And remarkably, she agreed to be united with him for eternity in the bonds of matrimony.

The video ends with the man and his betrothed locked in a deeply uncomfortable embrace as he tries to hug her with the arms of a fictional robot.

True love really does conquer all.
