Ginger cat becomes global star of social media hit video on TikTok

A ginger cat has become the star of a video which turned into a global hit.

The sequence, filmed on social media app Tik Tok, shows the kitty grooving to 50s tune Mr Sandman.

The cat has been identified as Ed - named after singer Ed Sheeran- who belongs to teen Jade Taylor-Ryan from Ontario, Canada.

The video has been viewed more than 6 million times, with viewers calling it "the best thing they've seen in their entire life" and saying "I can't stop watching this".

Tik Tok is a social media app for making and sharing videos, which was launched two years ago.
