Thomas the Tank Engine coming to Australia in series reboot

Thomas the Tank Engine is coming to Australia in four new episodes of the beloved British children's show.

The trip is part of a revamp of the 70-year-old children's character, set to include a bunch of new characters from different national backgrounds.

That includes a bunch of Australian characters including a plane called Isla, coaches named Aubrey and Aiden and engines called Shane and Tamika.

No word on the adventures Thomas will face in Australia, but here's our predictions.

"Watch out Thomas, some bogan's put his feet on the seats."

"Watch out Thomas, someone's standing in the train doorways when they aren't getting off, inhibiting other passengers."

"Watch out Thomas, someone's shouting at random while every other commuter is staring nervously at their phone pretending not to hear."

The new series will also feature characters from Kenya, India and China.

It will also include a reboot of the theme music, which is a slap in the face to fans of gentle ragtime.
