As parents to three boys, Courtney and Eric Waldrop thought their fourth pregnancy might see them welcome a little girl.

But the parents got more chances than they bargained for when they discovered they were having sextuplets – yep, that's six babies!

In an episode of Sweet Home Sextuplets – which you can watch for free on 9Now – Courtney and Eric found out the genders of their sextuplets at an extravagant gender reveal party.

As mum to three sons – Saylor, eight, and twins Bridge and Wales, five – Courtney admitted that parenting boys was all she knew.

"If it was all six boys I would be so excited, six girls would scare me to death," Courtney confessed.

"I wouldn't know what to do with them."

Husband Eric tended to agree, saying that "five or six girls would be over the top".

Courtney's best friend Emily organised a gender reveal party for the couple at a local field.

The gender reveal, which was attended by 600 people, doubled as a fundraiser to help raise money for when the babies arrived.

It was time for the moment of truth: Would the Waldrops be parents to nine boys or would a girl finally join the family?

As Eric lit the first smoke bomb, a stream of blue smoke shot up into the air. Baby number one was a boy!

"When the first bomb went off and it was blue, I wasn't shocked," Courtney admitted.

"I thought 'Here we go again'," Eric added.

The next smoke flares revealed that babies number two and three were also boys!

Now confirmed parents to at least six boys, Courtney and Eric held their breath as they lit the fourth smoke bomb.

They couldn't believe their eyes when a cloud of pink smoke exploded. It was a girl!

"I think it took me a while for it to sink in that I was seeing pink," Courtney pinched herself.

"And the crowd went crazy, you would've thought we were at a national championship game or something."
