Siri interrupts British MP’s parliamentary address
Look, we’re not saying that we don’t like Siri, but the digital assistant can be a bit annoying at times.
Siri will pop up when you’re just trying to unlock your phone and its inoffensive, emotionless tone can be infuriating when you’re already worked up.
And then Siri has this habit of chiming in at the most inopportune moments say, when you’re addressing the House of Commons in British Parliament.
That’s what happened to MP Gavin Williamson, who was interrupted by Siri yesterday.

“It is rare that one is heckled by one’s own mobile phone, but on this occasion we have a new parliamentary convention, without a doubt,” he said.
“If I may, Mr Speaker, I will proceed, without the help and support of Siri.”
It caused a few chortles from the house and sparked a bit of interest about how Siri’s remarks would all be recorded in the Hansard – the official parliamentary transcript.

But, unfortch, Siri didn’t get an official mention in the Hansard.
Instead, all that was recorded was: [Interruption.]
What a snub.
Don’t worry Siri, what with the way AI is going, you’re probs going to get your time in Parliament in the near future.
