Semi-retired couple Bob and Karolyn have lived on their huge, two hectare property for 30 years and were finally considering downsizing – but there was one major problem.

In many ways, the large home with sweeping views and plenty of entertaining space had remained timeless enough that the couple could easily sell when the time came.

Except for one room which posed a glaring issue for potential buyers.

In an episode of Unsellable Houses – which you can watch for free on 9Now – twins and real estate experts Leslie Davis and Lyndsay Lamb helped the couple sell their home.

Leslie and Lyndsay were very surprised when they first entered Bob and Karolyn's home and spotted carpet in the bathroom.

Yep, you read that right.

After pointing out the dated green carpet in the bedroom, the sisters couldn't help but laugh when they walked through the door.

"And the green carpet is continuous," they said in tandem.

"I mean, why would you end it at the doorway? No logical reason," Lyndsay joked.

It wasn't the only problem with the bathroom, which featured a tripping hazard step and used a lot of large tiles that made the large space feel a lot tighter than it really was.
