9 Questions with 9Entertainment: Scott Cam reveals the iconic '90s sitcom character he relates to and what he's been binge watching

Every Sunday on The Block we hear host Scott Cam declare "tools down", as the contestants wrap up the room they've been renovating that week.

But when Cam downs tools himself, whether on a TV set or doing his own building and DIY, like most of us he has a few go-to shows to relax and unwind with.

Given his carpentry background and two decades in TV, Cam loves watching series about renovations, and can see a little bit of himself in Home Improvement's Tim 'the Toolman' Taylor.

The shows I am binge-watching now: Travel Guides. Kev and Teng work behind the scenes on The Block so I'm watching them. I enjoy watching the Fren family and have a laugh. And rugby league.

My go-to show for a feel-good vibe is: Escape to the Chateau. I love historic homes.

My favourite childhood show was: Hey Hey It's Saturday when it was in the morning before the footy. It was very funny.

The show I would love to star in a reboot of is: The Don Lane Show. I'd like to be the side-kick, although I'd never be as good as Bert Newton.

My set up for a binge-watching session is: A few cold beers and cheese and Jatz.

The show I was excited to watch but felt let down by was: Holey Moley as there was too much going on.

My preferred reality show is: Renovation because that's my thing.

The show I'm in that I most enjoy re-watching is: The Block when I get to reminisce.

The TV character I most relate to is: Tim the Toolman [Tim Allen's character from 1990s sitcom Home Improvement] because that's my thing.
