How I'm getting through isolation: Renee Bargh reveals surprising new hobbies

9Entertainment Staff

Renee Bargh has hit our screens as one of the brand new hosts for The Voice Australia. But this isn't a first for the 33-year-old who's carved an incredible hosting career, having previously hosted Channel [V] music, travel shows, as well as a number of red carpet and festival events here in Australia.

Renee also works as correspondent and weekend co-host of Extra in Los Angeles. Here she's met some of the biggest names in the world, including John Travolta, Bon Jovi, Nicole Kidman and Johnny Depp.

See below what she's been up to as coronavirus locks down much of the world.

TV shows I'm bingeing: Currently watching the Jordan documentary, The Last Dance, and it's incredible. I was such a fan of his growing up and it's amazing to re-live his career. Before that I watched Normal People in two days and it broke my heart... in the best way possible.

What I'm watching next: Waco, because I've heard it's amazing and it sounds intense!

What I've always wanted to watch but haven't had time to: Game of Thrones... But it still feels like too much of a commitment.

What I'm re-watching: Schitt's Creek and Friends.

What shows my castmates have recommended: Delta recommends Grace and Frankie and I love it!

Most surprising iso TV discovery: Too Hot to Handle. It was pretty cringe-worthy but hilarious.

Preferred binge-watching snack: Popcorn with butter and honey or dark chocolate. Preferably both.

Books I'm reading: I'm currently reading Untamed and it's incredible. Glennon Doyle has such an intriguing story and I love how she writes. Before that I finished White Fur and also loved it. The language was really beautiful.

Podcasts I'm listening to: The Daily and On Being.

Hobbies I've taken up: Learning French — my mother has been teaching me — and baking. I've never really baked before this and now banana bread is a weekly activity.

People I'm FaceTiming the most: I've been FaceTiming with my sister and baby niece every day, as well as my parents. But also hopping on Zoom calls with my girlfriends and either drinking wine or working out together.

Go-to iso outfit: Tracksuit. Preferably tie dyed. Cliché i know!

How else are you spending your days? I've been working a lot so I've been thankful to be actually quite busy during this time. But aside from work I've been meditating and reading more than usual which has been very relaxing.

What are you doing to maintain a sense of 'normal' during this time? Going to work and keeping busy. Making sure I'm connecting with my friends and I actually feel I'm more connected to them and my family than ever.
