During promotion of Nuremberg, Crowe revealed that the film's epic courtroom scene, which sees his Göring duel with Michael Shannon as U.S prosecutor Robert H. Jackson, was shortened from a four-day-long shoot to just one.

"Michael and I discussed how there didn't seem to be natural stopping points. The scene was written like a duel, a fight sequence with concepts and philosophies as weapons..." he told Deadline.
