This is what makes good morning television.

When you've just woken up, you want to be informed but you also want to be entertained.

And there's nothing more entertaining than watching a bunch of middle-aged people in professional outfits absolutely falling apart.

We don't know, we guess we just like to see people in suits losing all composure.

This comes to you from US morning show Channel 2 Daybreak.

The Colorado team decided they'd give the Paqui One Chip Challenge a crack, which is described on the tortilla chip company's website as an "eye-watering, curse-inducing chip made with the hottest pepper on the planet".

It's made with the Carolina reaper chilli, which is has a score of 1,569,300 on the Scoville heat-measuring scale.

Journo Matt Gross wrote about trying the pepper for Bon Appetit said it took him 14 hours to recover.

When asked if he'd do it again, his answer was "oh my god, no".

So of course things went horribly wrong when these news anchors decided to give the chips a try.

Obviously the segment is now going viral, with video posted to the KWGN Denver Facebook page clocking up near 20,000 views in just five hours.

The reactions from the dignified local news team makes for excellent viewing but the best reaction came from Natalie Tysdal, who chucked up on live television.

A few hours after the incident, Tysdal took to Facebook to update viewers about her condition.

She said having a mouthful of coffee to chase the chip was her undoing.

"I threw up, couldn't breathe and felt like fire was coming out of my mouth, nose and ears," she said.

"I had a bottle of water, a glass of milk, a tablespoon of honey and three mints and still felt on fire.

"An hour later I had chills and a massive headache.

Yeah, she didn't recommend the chippie, in the end.
