The platform of a New York subway station was given a fresh coat of paint at 9.30am yesterday morning.

Specifically the yellow line between the platform and the train that everybody treads on when getting on or off.

And savvy Twitter user @boshj documented the subsequent debacle during his morning commute at Rockaway Avenue C Station in Brooklyn.

"It's hard to think of a better metaphor for how colossally mismanaged the MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority), and the New York City subway in particular, is," he tweeted.

@boshj tweeted the resulting mess.

We feel for these Brooklyn hipsters who are inevitably going to have to buy a whole bottle of turpentine just to clean the soles of their Vans.
