What I learned about the life of a pop star after watching Mariah's World
Have you ever wondered what the life of an internationally-acclaimed pop star on tour would be like? Including the tour busses, the adoring fans, the five-star hotels and, of course, the omnipresent entourage there to get you and give you anything you desire.
Well luckily for us, we don't have to wonder any more because we have Mariah's World, which you can watch for for free on 9Now, to tell us exactly what goes on behind the scenes.

Mariah Carey demands only the best lighting in every situation
"Ugh the abusive lighting situations are just too much." 9Now
No matter where she is pictured, Mariah will simply not speak to you if she is not seen in the most flattering lighting. And this is not an exaggeration — she willingly admits it to the camera on multiple occasions.
In one instance Mariah condemns what she calls an "abusive lighting situation" while taking a photo with a fan, moving multiple times before settling on a lighting situation which was considerably less violent.
On another occasion, she says that she has a strict rule that she "never be seen in fluorescent lighting", without, of course "wearing sunglasses."

Mariah Carey cannot stand to walk
It sounds like an odd blanket statement but having watched Mariah's World it becomes abundantly clear that the pop star will take any opportunity to avoid walking, even if it's just from her dressing room to the stage on which she is about to perform.

In one instance when she is about to go on stage, Mariah stands and waits for a wheely office chair to be brought to her outside of her dressing room, and sits down on it surrounded by her entourage, being wheeled to the very limit of the boundary of the stage to ensure minimal walking time.

We can only imagine that the incredible stage performances she gives will require a huge amount of energy and that any more mundane form of physical activity, like walking, is only a drain on that resource. But this still seems a little excessive.
Mariah Carey thrives on meltdowns
It appears as though, throughout her day, Mariah has about three to four meltdowns in reaction to a variety of different inconveniences.
Her backup dancers are annoyed by her children? Meltdown. There is a mosquito near her? Meltdown. Mariah even makes a newly minted assistant cry because they weren't able to get her hotel room's Apple TV to work, and if she can't listen to the Apple TV while she falls asleep, she won't sleep. You guessed it: meltdown.

To ensure that Mariah is happy and catered to at all times, it appears as though her bevy of personal staff will go to any length, with four separate people hired to put on the singer's shoes every morning in case they are too difficult for her to manage.
