Celebrate Mardi Gras with a brand new Pride Collection on 9Now

Not only is today Valentine's Day, it's also the first day of the 2025 Mardi Gras season.

The next two weeks of colourful self-expression, celebration and protest will accumulate to a fabulous parade on Saturday demonstrating power of passion, creativity and community.

As we kick off the 2025 Mardi Gras Parade this weekend, 9Now has launched a new 9Now to celebrate and honour the vibrant diversity of the queer community.

The Adventures of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert

The beloved Australian classic.

Two drag queens and a transgender woman travel across the Australian desert in a tour bus to take their cabaret show to a remote town. Along the way, they meet various characters.

Trixie Motel

Drag superstar Trixie Mattel, with the help of her boyfriend David and a host of celebrity guests, overhauls a rundown Californian motel.

Trixie Motel is a must-watch for fans of fabulous makeovers, over-the-top aesthetics, and all things pink. Hosted by drag superstar Trixie Mattel, the series follows her ambitious journey to transform a rundown Palm Springs motel into a stunning, one-of-a-kind destination.

Each episode is packed with humour, heart, and high-stakes renovations as Trixie, alongside her partner David Silver and a team of expert designers, tackles different themed rooms.

The Birdcage

Gay lovers Armand (Robin Williams) and Albert (Nathan Lane) disguise themselves as a heterosexual couple in order to meet and impress the conservative family of their son's fiancée.

The Senator and family descend upon South Beach to meet Val, his father and "mother." What ensues is comic chaos.

When the movie premiered in 1996, audiences flocked to see something they hadn't before – a lighthearted movie where openly gay men were the heroes and a family with gay parents was loving, happy and committed.

The film very much helped make mainstream the idea of a non-heterosexual family.

Chucky

Chucky might be a surprise to some on this list, but it definitely deserves a mention during Pride Month for its significant LGBTQIA+ representation.

This horror series serves as a continuation of the iconic Child's Play franchise, and introduces diverse LGBTQIA+ characters.

In the new TV series, Chucky encounters 14-year-old middle school queer student Jake Wheeler at a yard sale. Jake's intentions are to use him for his personal art projects.

Jake's father Lucas, who already disapproves of Jake spending too much time "playing with dolls", is uncomfortable with his son's sexuality.
