Baseball umpire halts game to yank a bug out of his ear

Now, with that warning clearing us of moral culpability for grossing you out, we’d like to tell you a tale about a baseball ref who had to stop a game because he felt something in his ear.

His name is Bruce Dreckman and holy heck did he have a bad day.

He had to halt the game between the White Sox and the Yankees, calling over trainer Steve Donohue to check out his ear.

ESPN camera recorded the impromptu examination, zooming in on Donohue digging around in Dreckman’s ear.

The sickening highlight then shows Dreckman grabbing a pair of tweezers and ripping something out of his head.

Turns out there was A LIVE MOTH IN HIS EAR.

The footage, which was tweeted on Thursday, clocked up more than 9000 views and has since been compiled in a Twitter Moment.

If you watch closely, you can see the poor thing flapping its wings after it was yanked out.

Sports writer Lindsey Adler aptly described the scene as “hella gross”.

And this tweet from journo Sung Min Kim’s sums that hella grossness up:
