Kyle Sandilands names Jaimee Blazquez as executive producer for his brand new show

Kyle Sandilands has named beloved KIIS FM producer Jaimee Blazquez as the executive producer for his highly anticipated new project Kyle Sandilands Live.

Blazquez, better known as “Producer Mayo” on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, took to social media to announce her new role and gave a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes makings of Sandilands’ new show.

“Excited to share that I have stepped into the role of executive producer for @kylesandilandslive,” Blazquez captioned a photo of her and Sandilands standing arm-in-arm.

“I have loved working with Kyle for the past nine years and looking forward to continue working with him on this new venture!”

She signed off by looking ahead to the August 10 launch date of Kyle Sandilands Live.

Friends and colleagues jumped to the comment section to congratulate Blazquez on the new gig.

“Not an average girl anymore Mayo!” KIIS FM newsreader Brooklyn Ross wrote.

Like Blazquez, Ross was a prominent fixture on The Kyle & Jackie O Show before its demise.

He confirmed his future remains at the radio station and he will not be jumping ship to Sandilands’ new project.

Another said: “Hell yes mayo!! so glad he’s getting majority of the old team back together again cannot freaking wait!!

Blazquez left KIIS FM to welcome her second child on February 13, just one week before the now infamous on-air clash between him and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson on February 20.

The producer welcomed a baby girl on February 24 and returned to social media on March 5 with a lengthy statement saying she was “gutted” over the breakdown between Sandilands, Henderson and the future of the program.

“I had always dreamt of working on this show, so having had the opportunity to produce for Kyle & Jackie O for the past 9 years has been an absolute privilege,” she wrote at the time.

“We weren’t just a show but we were a family so to see it end like this is heartbreaking.”

She thanked both Sandilands and Henderson saying she hoped to work with them again in the future. It seems a least half that wish came true.

Back in June, when Sandilands announced he had a new show in the works, he said he’d “already scooped up those who got made redundant” amid the fallout from the show.

“I probably did [rehire staff] out of guilt but also because I like my crew and I want to make sure they’re okay,” he told  Game Changers Radio.

“You know, someone’s engaged, someone’s pregnant. Everyone’s got their own life going on.”

In her Instagram post, Blazquez pulled back the curtain on what the Kyle Sandilands Live studio looked like.

The walls were decked out in “King Kyle” artwork and she shared several images of Kyle Sandilands Live merchandise and branding.

In mid-July, Sandilands’ longtime manager and best mate Bruno Bouchet confirmed all the details around Kyle Sandilands Live.

Appearing on the Game Changers Radio podcast, Bouchet said the show would launch on Monday, August 10 via Sandilands’ upcoming app.

“Instead of taking traditional calls like you would through mobiles and landlines, it’s all video calls and I think it’s going to be a fair bit of fun.”

Bouchet confirmed that like a standard radio show, the show would also include music and a newsreader. A subscription would cost $99 annually, with no monthly option available at launch.

It will come after an already announced docuseries called At Home with Kyle, which Bouchet said would launch its first of four episodes in late July.

Bouchet also teased that Sandilands would have a female newsreader but remained tight-lipped on exactly who that would be.

“I think the chemistry is just off the charts between the two of them,” he said.

He said Sandilands was also keen to address “everything that has happened since February 20″, the date of his explosive on-air disagreement with former co-host  Henderson that blew up The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Sandilands eventually settled with his previous employer ARN for $12 million over the termination of his reported $100 million contract.

Henderson also launched a lawsuit against her former employer claiming compensation of at least $82.25 million and alleging that her termination was against the Fair Work Act.

It was revealed she will still proceed with the lawsuit, despite her former co-host settling.
