Girlfriend's attempt to overtake on the go kart track goes wrong

Go Karting is more dangerous than Mario and Luigi led us to believe.

That's what this lead-footed woman learnt when she hit the track with her boyfriend.

He took off first, but it seems she wasn't content with following the leader, no doubt driving with the music of the Nintendo 64 Mario Kart game playing in her head.

She may have had the need for speed like Princess Peach, but she didn't have the same grace behind the wheel.

Her boyfriend's helmet cam captured her whizzing past to overtake him, only to crash straight into the tyre barriers.

It's quite a wipe out, and earned the footage a cool 84,000 views online.

While you may look like you're in the video game, it seems the similarity ends there.

Crashes may be just as comical, but they hurt.

There are no cheats to keep you on the road. 

If you fall off the track, you don't have a magic cloud to put you back on to the course.

The only cloud following you is a cloud of shame.
