You've tried meeting people out; you've even tried Tinder.

This is your last resort.

And your date ditches you.

What a kick in the guts, hey?

That's what happened to poor Lewis on the UK's First Dates.

To be fair, the romance wasn't exactly blooming between Lewis and his date Jade, but there's probably better ways to end things.

She just upped and left without letting him know she wasn't going to hang around for dessert.

And the move created an uproar on Twitter.

We're not sure if Jade covered her share of the bill before she left the restaurant, but we certainly hope so.

The couples are given just over $40 each to spend on their meals, but they cover the rest.

And looking at the menu, we reckon it would be easy to spend more than that on a decent steak, a starter and a cocktail.

Yep, while it might be easy to assume the restaurant is a set, it's actually a real place you can go to – it's called the Paternoster Chop House, and it's near Saint Paul's Cathedral in London.

Let's hope Lewis has better luck on his next date.
