Moment Eliza Paschke surprises her parents with pregnancy news: ‘Are you serious?’
The Block star Eliza Paschke has shared the moment she told her family she was pregnant with her first child.
The 40-year-old, who appeared on the 2023 season of the reno show with her younger sister Liberty, shared footage of when she surprised her parents with her baby news under the guise of taking a family photo.

“On three, everyone say ‘Eliza’s pregnant!’” Liberty said at the beginning of the video.
Their parents happily obliged, parroting the phrase as the news took a few seconds to register.
It was only when Eliza showed them her scan that it actually sank in.
“Are you serious?” her dad reacted.
After congratulatory hugs, her mum said she thought the unique version of “say cheese” was “something different”.
“It didn’t hit,” she said.
In sharing the video, Eliza said it “couldn’t be more typical of our family dynamic”.
She said her family had known about her desire to have a baby, but she had chosen to keep many of the details private along the way, “hence the perplexed reactions when this actually became a reality (after so long)“.
Eliza first shared her pregnancy news on Instagram on June 4.

“Becoming a mum is something I’ve always thought about and openly discussed. Today I’m 16 weeks pregnant, and feeling immensely grateful to be in this position,” she said.
The following morning, Nova radio presenter Clint Stanaway confirmed he was the baby’s father and they would be co-parenting together.
“We’re going to have a different-looking family, but a family that is not going to have any shortage of love in it,” he said.

“So happy to be sharing the experience with this wonderful human @cstanaway” wrote Eliza as she confirmed the news online.
Eliza previously revealed she first decided to freeze her eggs at 32.
“I was single with no assets to my name and had saved up just enough money for an overseas holiday. Instead of going on that holiday, I made a $10,000 investment in my future,” she wrote in a 2024 column for nine.com.au.
