Dog teaches mate how to sit so he doesn’t miss out on treats

Now this is friendship.

Two dog, Rufus and Jet were being taught how to sit on command.

Rufus, being a good eight months older than his pal, was wise enough to nail the trick.

But Jet had a bit of learning to do.

Knowing there was a treat on the line, it looks like Rufus didn’t want his mate to miss out on a snack.

With a guiding paw, he helped Jet achieve his sitting goals.

And don’t go saying that this was a one-off fluke.

Rufus does it for a second time in the video and his human claims he’d done it before the camera was rolling.

This video was posted to the Ask Robin Baldwin YouTube channel in May last year, but has been riding the waves of viral popularity since.

It attracted nearly 80,000 upvotes after being posted to Reddit in June.

In February, the video was picked up again, appearing on WBRZ, an offshoot of America’s ABC.

Now, off the back of a recent spike, it’s circulating on Twitter and Facebook after being posted by mastheads like The Dodo – with one repost clocking up more than 38 million views.

But while it’s not exactly a new video, we’re not complaining about having it pop up in our newsfeed.

And, let’s be honest, our news feed is basically a steady dream of dog, cat and pimple popping videos.

So this is an extremely welcome addition to that “news” feed.
