Singers on UK talent show were so bad people thought it was an April Fool’s Day joke

Look, we all love a good talent show.

Watching people sing or dance or change outfits really, really fast is entertaining.

But what about people with absolutely no talent at all?

Back in the day you’d have to go to a karaoke night to cringe at terrible, terrible singing.

But now, thanks to the brilliant minds at UK television network ITV, you don’t have to venture into the public, get off the couch or even put on pants to sneer at  bad singers.

Because they’ve created a show called Change Your Tune.

The premise, celebrating talentless, average people, is something we can really get behind.

Essentially, it’s about getting bad singers to show their stuff and then coach them to improve their performance.

After intensive training with vocal coaches, the tragics are tarted up, given backup dancers and plonked on a stage to show what they’ve learned.

At the end of the show, someone walks away with a cash prize of about $18,000.

Brilliant.

The show aired in the UK on Sunday which, as you know, was also April Fools’ Day. 

As we read in a report from Ben Allen for Radio Times, people were convinced it was an elaborate joke.

“However, they were sadly mistaken – the series will indeed continue to run to its natural conclusion, despite receiving a slew of negative reviews from the public on launch night,” he wrote.
