According to People, Scott proposed on a family trip to Scotland and Deschanel's two children, daughter Elsie, eight, and son Charlie, six, were there for the proposal.
The publication reports that Scott has Scottish heritage.
The smitten couple first met in August 2019 while filming an episode of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke.

"We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time."
Deschanel and Pechenik filed for divorce in October 2019 and it was finalised in June 2020.
She was previously married to Deathcab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, but the pair filed for divorce in 2012 after two years of marriage.
