Young Thug reveals new song with Mac Miller was recorded a day before his death

Rapper Young Thug has revealed his song 'Day Before', a collaboration with Mac Miller that closes his new album Punk, was recorded just one day before MIller's death in 2018.

The 'Solid' rapper, 30, appeared on The Breakfast Club radio show this week and said he spent time in the studio with Miller just one day before the 26-year-old reportedly died of an accidental overdose three years ago.

"I was with Mac the day before he died. He was at my studio. We did the song… This s--t's so crazy, but it's coincidental," Young Thug said. "He came to the studio, did a song with me. The next day he died. And the song that we did at the studio, the name of the song is 'Day Before.'"

Young Thug said he often looks back on that day and the final moments he shared with the star.

"I think deep on that because it's like, is that a sign?" he added. "At some point, you want to know. At some point it's like, yo, have you ever wished that God could just really talk to you?"

Miller died on September 7, 2018, of an accidental overdose at his home in the Studio City neighbourhood of Los Angeles.

'Day Before,' is the final track on Young Thug's second studio album Punk, which was released last week. In addition to Miller, the album features collaborations with the likes of Drake, Travis Scott, Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, Doja Cat, Future, Juice WRLD and more.

Thugger recently appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live alongside Blink-182 drummer and Kourtney Kardashian's beau Travis Barker.

Last month marked the third anniversary of Miller's death, with musicians paying tribute to the late star via social media.

"Always in my heart man," Kid Cudi tweeted.
