WATCH: Which <i>O.C.</i> star is in new Batman series <i>Gotham</i>?

The first trailer for Batman prequel Gotham has arrived… and it looks pretty awesome! Check it out above.

The series centres on young orphan Bruce Wayne (played by David Mazouz) and Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), aka Ryan from The O.C. as you've never seen him before.

It's not the first time TV's favourite delinquent has played a cop, with the 35-year-old actor melting our hearts as officer Ben Sherman on Southland.He also dabbled in the superhero pool in 2011, voicing Bruce Wayne in Batman animation Year One, alongside Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston.

The series is set to air on Fox later this year and also stars Donal Logue from Vikings and Jada Pinkett Smith.
