WATCH: Samantha Armytage shoots down reports she's dating Russell Crowe

Sorry, Russell Crowe…she's just not that into you.

Samantha Armytage and her Sunrise co-hosts had a good chuckle at reports out today that she and Russell are in love.

"No I've never been on a date with Russell Crowe," Sam insisted as the Sunrise gang teased her over the Woman's Day article.

That's not to say the two don't share a connection. When the actor stopped by Sunrise to talk up his role in Man of Steel last year, both fans and Sam's colleagues noticed their chemistry.

Romance rumours resurfaced when Russell, 50, returned to the show last week to discuss his new directorial effort The Water Diviner. Afterwards, Sam, 37, posted a photo on Instagram and shared her excitement.

"Loved having @Russell Crowe on the show this morning. His new movie 'The Water Diviner' looks amaaaazing (out Boxing Day) & his bling-premiership ring was blinding... @sunriseon7 @ssfcrabbitohs"

Her followers jumped at the chance to play matchmaker. "Mr and Mrs Crowe" one remarked, while another wrote, "You two make a nice couple. How 'bout it?"

Erm, not so fast, guys. Can't a starstruck fan gush in peace?
