Taking the stage at the American Cinematheque gala in LA this week, Kate recounted a story from the set of their Queensland-filmed flick Fool's Gold (2008).
It was the day she'd finalised her divorce from Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson… and her co-star Matt was wet and shirtless. We'll leave Kate to explain the rest in the video above.
Kate, we salute you for nailing that Texan drawl and swagger-packed walk that's classic McConaughey. Even he looked impressed, watching on from the audience.
The Dallas Buyers Club Oscar winner was honoured with American Cinematheque's annual tribute, with speeches from famous friends like Jennifer Garner, Jessica Chastain, Christopher Nolan and a video message from True Detective co-star Woody Harrelson.
