Twilight star Elizabeth Reaser reveals she secretly got married eight months ago

Twilight star Elizabeth Reaser has just revealed she married composer Bruce Gilbert in secret about eight months ago.

The actress, who played vampire matriarch Esme Cullen in the cult Twilight franchise, kept her nuptials hidden from fans for almost a year before announcing them this weekend.

Posting a series of stunning wedding snaps to Instagram, she simply wrote: "Bruce and I got married."

The snaps showed her looking resplendent in a sheer beaded wedding gown from Danielle Frankel, which she paired with a delicate ribbon tied around her neck.

Reaser then tagged the official Vogue Instagram account and opened up to the outlet about her low-key wedding.

"Originally, we were making these huge lists of people to invite but we realised pretty quickly it didn't feel right for us," she told Vogue.

"We decided to elope instead, with a couple of friends as witnesses."

So who managed to score an invite?

Megan Ferguson, 41, best known for Curb Your Enthusiasm and Gossip Girl, and her husband The Magicians actor Nico Evers-Swindell, 45.

Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Sarah Paulson, 49, was also there, along with her partner, Holland Taylor, 81, who officiated.

The private nuptials were hosted at Hotel Caruso's Wagner Garden, overlooking the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

After saying "I do", Reaser and Gilbert walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, only to stop halfway when the band started playing Oh Baby by LCD Soundsystem.

"It was so beautiful that we stopped at the end of the aisle and had an impromptu first dance," Reaser revealed to Vogue.

"I think it may have been the purest moment of happiness in my life."

The newlyweds kept their marriage a secret for months before finally sharing the happy news with the world.

They met in 2017, when Gilbert walked his dogs past Reaser's backyard, where she was holding a "dog playdate", per Vogue.

Before long, they were an item and Gilbert proposed in Positano in 2022, before the pair tied the knot in late 2023.
