Tori Spelling defends Brian Austin Green after lashing from ex Megan Fox

Just a day after Brian Austin Green was lashed online by his estranged wife Megan Fox, the actor's former 90210 co-star has defended his character.

Green was accused of trying to convince his Instagram followers he was a "better parent" after he uploaded a Halloween photo of himself and four-year-old son, Journey.

"Why does Journey have to be in this picture? It's not hard to crop them out. Or choose photos that they aren't in," Fox commented.

"I had a great Halloween with them yesterday, and yet notice how absent they are from my social media. I know you love your kids. But I don't know why you can't stop using them to posture via Instagram."

Fox went on to accuse Green of being "so intoxicated with feeding the pervasive narrative that [she's] an absent mother", while he's the "eternally dedicated dad of the year".

"Congratulations you truly are a remarkable human!" she wrote. "Why do you need the internet to echo back to you what should be inexhaustibly evident in the way your children love you?"

Following the reaction, the actor deleted the photo, before reposting with Journey cropped out.

While Green didn't react to the crushing accusation from his wife of a decade, Spelling took an opportunity to praise her former co-star with an Instagram post of her own.

In a photo of herself, Green and Jennie Garth, Spelling, 47, gushed that the trio "really grew up together".

"Just a silly bunch of teenagers," she captioned the photo, reminiscing about the good times together. "Bri would 'pull my pigtails' on set and till this day can still 'push my buttons' in the best of ways because he knows me so well.

"We were just kids. But standing by these two for decades I've watched them both grow into such amazing humans. We are all parents now.

"Honour to consider them my friends and brother and sister on this journey in life. I love you both. I always have. Always will!"

Fox and Green, who share three children together, called off their marriage in May this year, with the Transformers star moving on with rapper Machine Gun Kelly, 30.
