'That '70s Show' star Topher Grace reveals he once dated Ivanka Trump

Topher Grace once had a romantic fling with Ivanka Trump, but he isn't exactly thrilled to talk about it these days.

The former That '70s Show star recently opened up about his brief romance with Ivanka, the daughter of US President Donald Trump, back in 2006, in an July 31 interview with Daily Beast.

Asked if he ever dated Ivanka, he reluctantly told the website, "Uh… I did."

"Certainly it wasn't a political statement. This was a decade ago. I met her here in New York and we went on a couple of dates. I wouldn't say that we 'dated,' but... I didn't do it for political reasons."

At the time, Grace was 28 and she was 25. People had reported that the "couple" cosied up at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas for her 25th birthday party.

"Trump and Grace -- who starred as Eric Forman on FOX’s 'That '70s Show' and plays the villainous Venom in the upcoming 'Spider-Man 3' -- danced and cuddled on the VIP bed and even shared a quick kiss during the party, which was also attended by Ryan Cabrera, Chelsea Handler and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine," the publication claimed.

The romance was short-lived, and Grace told Daily Beast that he "never met her father."

Asked if he might be interested in playing Ivanka's husband, real estate heir Jared Kushner, in a movie about the Trump Administration we can only assume is forthcoming (with Alec Baldwin as the lead?), Grace reportedly laughed and said, "I don't know, man."

On Trump Sr.'s polarising presidency so far, though, Grace was a little more forthcoming. "It's a daily deluge," he said. "I can't even think what the scandal was five weeks ago."

It was shortly after Ivanka dated Grace that she met Kushner, whom she married in October 2009. Grace married his partner, Ashley Hinshaw, in May 2016. They welcomed their first child, daughter Mabel Jane, in November 2017.

Grace next plays David Duke, leader of the Ku Klux Klan, in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, out in Australian cinemas August 9.
